About the Position:
Our Client is a leader in the Beverage Industry. They are a newly located in the Easton. This is an entry level role at Ocean Spray. Blending Technicians will be tasked with blending ingredients of juice product to proper specifications with strict adherence to quality guidelines and Ocean Spray formula tolerances. To clean and sanitize juice processing and storage equipment in accordance with sanitation guidelines. To load and/or unload containers of concentrates, premixes, and rework. work load, however, expected to uphold quality and efficiency standards as directed. The successful candidate will be responsible for learning to operate all equipment in the bottling area, operate a forklift as required, assist in line changeovers, and perform level one PM's while maintaining a high level of safety and quality awareness. Other duties as assigned: The role includes performing various job roles in a rotation, reacting to lights and sounds should deviations occur, and communication with line conductor to ensure any deviations of product that are detected are reported in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities
Print and utilize the SAP production schedule and computerized database for proper formulas.
Monitor and document all ingredient usage to ensure delivery is in accordance with acceptable formula specification maximizing yields.
Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate quality checks.
Perform and document all quality checks and make required adjustments to bring the batched product(s) within formula specifications.
Communicate with packaging and production planning to ensure timely and accurate product changeovers.
Enter data into SAP as required.
Discern quality products and container integrity in accordance with OSC guidelines.
Maintain equipment and perform adjustments and repairs.
Prepare blending system equipment for cleaning.
Clean and sanitize all associated equipment within blending operation (i.e. bio trace swabbing).
Ensure safe handling of chemicals and use of required equipment to effectively clean and sanitize equipment.
Weigh essential vitamins (ie. vitamins A&E) and any other hand-added ingredients.
Ensure proper discharge of cleaning chemicals and product residue in accordance with wastewater pre-treatment regulations.
Perform math; add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, including compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Designates storage of juice and concentrate from tankers and coordinates loading of blended products.
Visually inspect, record, and dump concentrate rework and premixes.
Operate and maintain forklift to move necessary containers to designated locations.
Load and store empty containers in designated areas.
Notify Supervisor or Team Administrator when a deviation from the process is noticed.
Participate in team process and maintain good customer/supplier relationships.
Report health/safety hazards to immediate supervisor or EHS Department and meet all EHS requirements.
Perform all work in accordance with GMP's, housekeeping, good safety practices, and
environmental regulations.
Operate a forklift in a safe manner and comply with all safety guidelines and policies.
Must maintain excellent attendance reliability
Must be able to work in a 24/7 environment, 12hr shifts, every other weekend, and possibly some holidays
Ability to work overtime for vacation coverage and training purposes
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Walk in/and around the warehouse with great frequency
Regularly bend, lift, stretch and reach both below the waist and above the head
Vision abilities: close vision, depth perception and adjust focus
Must be will to learn and operate a sit-down fork lift.
Education Qualifications
High school degree required,
Bottling and manufacturing experience a plus
Blending/Mixer experience a plus
Language Skills: Can be fluent in English and Spanish
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
