Job Description

In this full-time position, the candidate will manage day-to-day operations of the Miner Alumni Association (MAA) as it pertains to staffing, budget, policies and processes. Serve as the face of the association by playing a pivotal role in developing a strategic vision, building life-long connections, and aligning the association's mission with the university's strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the Miner Alumni Association Board of Directors
    • Establish strategic planning initiatives; identify long-term goals, determine means for implementation and coordinate processes and staff to achieve desirable outcomes
    • Oversee and support all committees of the association
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with members of University Advancement, other university colleagues, and community constituents as needed, serving as the face of the association
  • Direct and manage personnel, providing oversight of all HR functions and personnel issues, including managing day-to-day operations of the Miner Alumni Association as it pertains to staffing, budget and employee policies and processes
  • Direct affinity programs and alumni activities for over 70,000 alumni
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the student experience, stimulate alumni engagement, increase pride and awareness, and foster lifelong connections
  • Manage fiscal operations while maintaining budget responsibilities
    • Prepare annual budgets for approval and monitor accounts throughout the fiscal year
    • Review, assess and distribute MAA scholarships annually
  • Work in coordination with Donor Relations to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of alumni and other university events
    • Assist with strategic planning initiatives and determine means for implementation and coordinate logistical processes and personnel to achieve desirable outcomes
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving to administer MAA fundraising programs
    • Assist in developing and creating a robust annual giving program
  • Manage the development, design and distribution of printed and electronic communications; plan and implement effective communication and marketing, programming and scheduling
  • Oversee the management of Hasselmann Alumni House operations, maintenance, reservations and community outreach
    • Provide input for short- and long-term financial and operational plans
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
Shift

Availability to work alumni and student events on evenings and weekends. The ability to travel independently via car and/or plane or other mass transit is required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in alumni relations, fundraising, and event management
  • Supervisory experience, both professional and administrative staff
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Ability to think strategically and effectively plan and implement high quality programs
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $68,200-$80,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
