Job Summary
This position is located off-campus in Pikeville, KY at UK Advanced Eyecare Pikeville Ophthalmology Clinic.
The Ophthalmic Assistant Non-Certified is the entry level position for those wishing to gain ophthalmic technician experience with UK Advanced Eye Care. We want to be the preferred provider for subspecialty ophthalmic eye care and optometry, and we will train you on the job in the various skills and diagnostics required to care for our patients appropriately. We encourage continuing education and eventual certification for our ophthalmic technicians. This position is expected to demonstrate excellent customer service, greeting patients in the waiting room and bringing them into the clinic for initial intake and preliminary testing.
This position will learn and eventually demonstrate a basic knowledge of the various diagnostics used in our practice.In addition, as part of the clinical team, this position will help maintain adequate supplies in the clinic's patient rooms and procedure rooms. We are a fast-paced, patient-centered enterprise and seek to hire individuals who enjoy working in this environment.

Ability to learn electronic medical records, ophthalmic diagnostics, and basic patient intake.
