Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Career Pathways Advisor.
Responsibilities: This 12-month, full-time position is responsible to contribute to the overall vision of the Career Pathways and Advising Center, including career exploration, academic advising and testing; maintaining career resources; establishing student/employer internship opportunities; and facilitating job contacts between employers and students. The position serves in an advising capacity as part of the WNCC Advising model, providing academic guidance and support to all new, incoming students, facilitating the intake process, and connecting students with other important resources on campus. Additionally, the position will serve as a Student Success Center liaison to the Workforce Development office by communicating non-credit offerings to students and assisting with registrations for specific non-credit programs as needed.
This position also provides support to other campus programs, services and events, including Alliance and Sidney campuses, which create an engaging, diverse and healthy campus experience for the Western Nebraska Community College student body.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a discipline directly related to employment, career development and planning, or other human resources concentration. Academic preparation in a student counseling or student affairs related discipline will be considered, if supported by directly related employer college relations, advising, recruitment, or staffing experience. Three years of related experience in career/academic advising or student services related work. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC's vehicle insurance.
Salary: Commensurate.
Start Date: Negotiable.
